Do you know what the responsibilities of you committee are? Is there a procedue book to help you?

What kind of guidance are you looking for from the president that you aren't getting? What kind of decisions are you needing made that the committee can't make on it's own? Is it that your committee members aren't getting along and you need a mediator?

Is your principal aware that leadership isn't working with the members?

we do have a procedure book, unfortunaly language is a big barrier in the committee there is only two members the we speak english so we always helping oou members, this is my first year in the pta and the president told us that we can't make any decisions on our own even if the vice president is present most of the time the president does not come to the school so other members are getting fustrated, and some of them dont get along with the president. the principal is not aware of all the problems and know if i should go and talk to her because is getting ridiculous I think we are losing our main focus the is our children and is fustrated. Do you think I can ask the principal to be our mediator?

Yes, if you are having problems within your board and your president isn't present or working with you, I would talk with the principal about what is going on. OR if you have a Region VP or a Field Service Rep in your State PTA that you might be more comfortable talking with, that would be another possibility too.
