PTA’s Million Hours of Power Campaign Can Earn $250,000

National PTA and our “Million Hours of Power” campaign have been selected for the Pepsi Refresh Project during the month of September. PTA has the opportunity to receive $250,000 for this campaign with the help of our leaders, friends and local PTAs.  Million Hours of Power is a campaign to inspire men throughout America to collectively dedicate at least one million hours of service to the health, education, and well-being of America’s youth during a single school year. The benefits to children are tremendous when parents get involved.

It’s easy to vote! Just go to www.refresheverything.com/millionhoursofpower and sign up using an e-mail address.  You can also vote via the widget on the Great Idea Bank home page (upper left corner).  

Our partners for the campaign include the National Fatherhood Leaders Group and members of PTA MORE^SM (Men Organized to Raise Engagement) who are on a mission to get more men involved and produce more positive outcomes for children. Winning the Pepsi Refresh project will allow us to organize town hall meetings, create tool kits for PTAs to use, launch media campaigns, and promote a male volunteer of the year award. These are just some of the ways the grant can provide PTA resources to educate men on how critical their involvement is to their children’s development.
