Welcome to the Family Engagement Group, Jenni! Thanks for joining. I know you are the Family Engagement Chair for AZPTA. Make sure you let your units know the deadline for the Take Your Family to School Week grants is tomorrow at 5 pm est. I am sure we will have lots of fantastic applicants from the great state of Arizona!

I would love to do a book study on this. Never done one before - but definitely am interested!

The Handbook on Family and Community Engagement from the Academic Development Institute is available online. Free! Go to Handbook to see a copy. If anyone is interested in doing a book study on the entire thing, let me know, I would be totally on board with that and would love to facilitate it!

There was a new publication released yesterday by the Office of Head Start. Promoting Family Engagement and School Readiness from Prenatal to Age 8 was co written by (friends of the PTA) Harvard Family Research Project. It was just posted yesterday and I was super busy writing an article for the next Our Children, but you can see it at ECLKC. I hope to have time to dig into it today, but if any of you beat me to it, post some comments here!
