Kyle, just curious if you've had a low cost fundraiser in the past that's raised big bucks for ya?

Our kids' school is looking into very low cost fund-raisers this year, because apparently the higher end products they were hoping would be a success last year did very poorly. One idea, I heard that a few surrounding schools have had success with is selling wristbands with positive anti-bully messages - (I guess capitalizing off of the Silly band craze.) Has anyone here made big money off of these?

I've never heard of a penny social either. If you want a more traditional way to raise money take a look at and what they have to offer.

I am working with a PTA in Cave Creek Arizona. It's hot here (110). And, we really don't our children going door to door soliciting. We found an alternative program that might work. We are giving it a try this week. I will publish results next week. If it works out. Safety for our kids is our no.1 concern.

Great story on how Carmel School District raised $100,000 by providing volunteers for the US Open at Pebble Beach. Has anyone tried contacting large events and offering to provide volunteers for a donation?

Raffetto's Ravioli of NYC has just expanded its fresh ravioli, pasta and sauces to schools and organization for fundraising. Earn 25% and run it at least 4 times a year. Prices are great. They deliver to your school. contact me if you are interested. Our school and Jersey Lightning All Stars has run this successfully for years.

Hi Jennifer,

Start by networking with other area schools; if for no other reason than to figure out what fundraising companies have saturated your city.

There is also the PTA marketplace on this website, and the PTO Today crew sends out a deck of cards (think Val-Pak coupons) three times a year that have lots of fundraising company coupons in there.

My guess is that simply by posting here, you'll also be contacted by more than a few companies.

How do you find vendors/small businesses that you want to include in your PTA's fundraisers? Our school needs some fresh ideas! We'd also like to keep it local (to keep our carbon footprint smaller). Thanks!
