I have a great way to create your own success story. If your PTA or school is planning on ordering spirit apparel for next year, such as hoodies, t-shirts, shorts, active wear, etc., Spirit School Apparel offers the opportunity to order all that merchandise with your school's logo and colors and also receive 20% of all profits! It's a great way to kill two birds with one stone. All you have to do is visit www.ssastores.com and make your own online school store for free, then you automatically get 20% of the profits!

I know the date for your movie already passed, but I suggest Annie! Kids love that move :)

How about Chitty Chitty Bang Bang? Although, watching it again as an adult I'm surprised about how scary it really was. Perhaps that will keep their attention.

Our first movie night is planned for September 24. I'm bored with all the new releases. Anyone have any recommendations for an "older" movie - probably G rated...thanks!

We held them all at night, too. Which eliminated a few people who would have been great, active members. But far fewer than daytime meetings would have. One year we tried alternating - one month at night, the next month in the morning. That just confused everyone.

We hold all of our meetings at night. We just had to figuire out what night worked best for the most people. The most important thing is what time and how long the meeting will last. If you say it is going to be a hour then try to make sure it is only a hour. That will make sure that those who are restricted for time will still come and not worry about being late. Leave all the chit chat till the meeting is over so that way the ones who want to stay can and those that has things to do can go do them. I hope your evening meetings go well!

I would like to know how many elementary school PTA's are holding meetings during the school day versus meeting in the evening. Our PTA meets in the mornings, and we rarely have more than our executive committee members! Evenings are already tough for everyone, but we're thinking about trying to meet every other month in the evening, to see if it helps attendance. Any thoughts?

Heather - Make sure you are logged out of your Facebook account. Go to http://www.facebook.com/ BELOW the part where it says "sign up" you should see a link to "create a page for a celebrity, band or business." Click that and then choose "organization" on the next page and then "non-profit." If you don't want it linked to your FB account, then you probably should pick "I don't have a FB account" on the next page and link it to some other email. (Does the school have a PTA email account that you could link it too? Or maybe you can create a free account online for the PTA?)
