171 + 12 = 183

We are now at 183 members! We got 6 of the membership envelopes back today and four of them were couple memberships. Glad to see the men holding up their end of things! Let's keep our male memberships high this year! We also had our first response to the mailing we did to our State PTA Board of Managers - thanks to Sonja Canterbury and her husband for joining!

I am planning to make a flyer listing all the businesses that are on the PTA discount card and sending that out to help boost… Continue

Membership.....day by day!

On Monday we sent home a letter about PTA membership. It had an envelope attached to it which had a short membership form pre-printed on the front of it. Here it is 2 days later and we have had 3 of them returned. We're hoping to see them continue to trickle in!

Our Membership Chair also mailed out 29 letters and membership forms to every member of the State PTA Board over the weekend. And we will be sending out similar letters to our school board members.

Today we… Continue

Membership Update

We are at 117 members as of last night. Of those, 45 are male! So we are doing pretty well percentage-wise. We hope to see the high male membership continue!

Our principal has said that he is paying for the staff's memberships this year. As soon as he does that, we will have a big boost in members.

We are also sending out a letter with an attached membership form printed on an envelope on Monday of next week. Hopefully lots of those will come back to us.

Meet the Teacher Night

What a very long day today has been!

My kids and I arrived about a half hour early again today in order to get ready for the Kindergarten breakfast for the alternating day class. That was followed by about 5 hours or so of me running laps around the school to help the Kindergarten teachers as well as my children's 3 teachers. After a morning of photocopying, working on bulletin boards and cutting out math manipulatives, I went back home.

BUT.....I was still doing PTA… Continue

Welcome Back Bulldogs!

My kids and I arrived at school about 45 minutes early today. We delivered their supplies to their classrooms and finished setting up for the Kindergarten meeting. Once my own kids were off to their classes, I spent a good part of my morning greeting new Kindergarten students and their parents and playing hostess. Our new Kindergarteners had the chance to write a goal for the school year onto a leaf and add it to our big beanstalk. Not too many tears today, at least not that I… Continue

The Night Before School Starts

All three of my kids have been tucked into bed for the night. Tomorrow they will start a new school year in 1st, 3rd and 5th grade. There is anticipation in the air and little voices that should be quiet are still buzzing from the back of the house. What will this new school year hold for them?

My youngest is excited because she lost her first tooth yesterday and she can't wait to show all her friends her new smile. Last year she only went to school every other day. I think she is… Continue
